Nursing care plan for cephalopelvic disproportion:
- The mother with CPD should be asked to lie down in such a position which increases the diameter of the pelvic.
- Sitting or squatting also facilitates the increase in the diameter of the pelvis. The mother and the foetus should be monitored continuously.
- Cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD) is refer to the situation in which the head or the body of a yet to be born baby does not fit through the mother’s pelvic due to it’s large size.
- The reason can be the small or abnormal size of mother’s pelvis or the large size of baby due to hereditary or other factors.
- If Cephalopelvic disproportion is diagnosed then, the delivery of the baby will be done through cesarean.
