Teen boys and girls should both obtain 25 to 35 percent of their calories from dietary fat, according to the Institute of Medicine. However, since teen boys require more calories, their total fat needs, including for omega-3 fatty acids, are higher than those of teenage girls.

hope it helps.

Answer :-

The following are the nutritional requirements for both boys and girls :-

  • To keep children healthy, strong, energetic and long-lived, it is necessary to have a "Balanced Diet".

  • There are six essential components of diet. They are- Carbohydrates, Protiens, Lipids, Water, Vitamins, and Minerals.

  • Carbohydrates, Lipids and protiens are known as "Macro-nutrients" or "Proximate principles of food" because they provide energy for the production of heat in our body.

  • Vitamins, Minerals and Water are known as "Micro-nutrients" or "Protective principles of food" because their deficiencies can cause specific diseases.

  • Carbohydrates and Fats are energy producers.

  • Protien is defined as a "Body Builder nutrient". Protiens are most essential for body growth and repair of tissues.

  • Vitamins and Minerals play the role of "Metabolic regulators" in our body.
