O bullets each of mass 10 gm are fired in succession into a block of mass 450 gm at rest. If velocity of eac 10m * s ^ - 1 and all the bullets are embeded in the block, the velocity of the block is (A) 5m * s ^ - 1 (C) 15m * s ^ - 1 (B) 10m * s ^ - 1 (D) 20m * s ^ -

Momentum of each bullet = 0.01 x 10

                                             = 0.1 kg m/s

Momentum of 10 bullets = 0.1 x 10 = 1 kg m/s

Mass of bullets + block = 10 x 0.01 + 0.45

                                       = 0.55 kg

From momentum conservation,

                                                  1 = 0.55 x (v) Velocity

                                                  v = 1.8 m/s

none of the above options with respect to your question

but since I am NEET aspirant i have solved the same question but the value of speed of bullet is different from that of yours. but our option are similar so i think it might be a typo so i will add the answer to my attached question also

Answer to the attached question

Momentum of each bullet = 0.01 x 110

                                             = 1.1 kg m/s

Momentum of 10 bullets = 0.1 x 10 = 11 kg m/s

Mass of bullets + block = 10 x 0.01 + 0.45

                                       = 0.55 kg

From momentum conservation,

                                                  11 = 0.55 x (v) Velocity

                                                  v = 20 m/s

option (D) is correct
