Question

If a+b = 20 and ab = 75, find the value of a²+b².

Answer

Given:-

→a+b = 20

→ab = 75

To find:-

Value of a²+b²

Solution:-

So,

=> a²+b²

=> [a²+b²+2ab]-2ab ( since, 2ab - 2ab = 0)

=> (a+b)²-2ab (we know, (a+b)²=a²+b²+2ab)

=> (20)²-2(75)

=> 400 - 150

=> 250
