Answer:

NOTE :-

The angle subtended by an arc at the centre is double the angle subtended by it at any point on the remaining part of the circle.

Given :-

  • Angle AOC = 100°

To find :-

  • angle ABC

Solution :-

  • According to theorem 10.8,
  • 2(angle ABC) = angle AOC
  • angle ABC = 100/2
  • angle ABC = 50°.

Given: O is the centre of the circle
Angle AOC= 100 degrees
To find: angle ABC
Solution: mark another point D on the circumference on arc AC
Join AD and CD
Now angle AOC = 1/2 angle ADC
So angle ADC= 50 degrees
We know that ABCD will become a cyclic quadrilateral because all it’s 4 points are on the circumference of the circle
So angle ADC + angle ABC = 180 degrees
Angle ABC + 100 = 180
Angle ABC = 180-100
So Angle B = 80 degrees
