The various challenges that evelyn had to face in life were as follows:
she gradually lost her hearing power from the age of 8 yrs and became fully deaf at the ge of 11th yrs.And there is no need to describe how much important role of hearing power is in our life or mostly in the life of people like evelyn who wants to make career in the field of music. So,she had to face a lot of problems,she had to hear or tolerate too much discourageous saying from so many peoples in her life but she didn't loose her confidence then also.
She with the help of the percussionist Ron Forbes started feeling and sensing the music .She used to sense music from the two large drums by feeling the higher drum from the waist up and the lower one from the waist down.She adopted herself as she could sense certain notes in different parts of the body to sounds and vibrations.The rest was her sheer determination and hard work.
