OBITUARY
Abel Merryweather  74, of Manchester, England , passed away, Monday, August 28, 2016, at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 21 at St. Philip's Church ,Water Way, Manchester, England 43523. Reverend Martin Collins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Manchester. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Manchester Society for the Old.

 Abel Merryweather was born January 15, 1938 in Manchester, England to Harold and Bethany (Ford) Cox. He graduated from Lupin Central High School in 1955 and from the University of Cambridge Manchester in 1960. On June 20, 1962 he married the former Barbara Cathy Walters in Manchester. Abel  was employed as a real estate agent and was one of the leading agent’s in his region. He enjoyed to work and only retired a few years prior to his passing. He was an avid boater and a member of the Menchester Yacht Club. He spent most of his weekends on the water sailing. He also enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Abel Merryweather is survived by his two daughters Amelia Slater and her husband Henry Slater, Elizabeth Jordan and her husband Ben Jordan, Victoria, granddaughter, Jimmy, grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Bethany, and his wife Barbara Cathy Cox (Walters) in 2009.

Death is a sleep after which we wake

 To life eternal and forever break

The bonds of flesh and bone,

 Mundane mortality is forever gone;

 The eternal life of light we live in God,

 Whose love becomes aur eternal abode!
