Answer:

What is the image distance when an object is kept 60cm from the pole of a concave mirror having 20cm focal length?

What is the image distance when an object is kept 60cm from the pole of a concave mirror having 20cm focal length?

Method -1

u=−60cm,f=−20cm,v=?,

Mirror formula1f=1v+1u

1−20=1v+1−60

160−120=1v

v=−30cm

Method -2

Slope of the ray AF is m1=ho20

Equation of the ray AF is y=ho20x+ho−−−−(1)

Slope of the ray OB is m2=ho60

Equation of the ray OB is y=ho60x−−−−−(2)

At the point of intersection of both of the rays, the coordinates will be same

substituting relation of (1) in (2) , we have

ho60x=ho20x+ho

160x−120x=1

x=−30

Distillation, process involving the conversion of a liquid into vapour that is subsequently condensed back to liquid form. It is exemplified at its simplest when steam from a kettle becomes deposited as drops of distilled water on a cold surface.
