Some important objectives of Communications are mentioned below :-

  • [1] To Inform : Communication brings power through information. Within an organisation, the people working there, have to be kept informed about different factors such as organisational goals, objective procedures, process, systems, plans, priorities and strategies. This is possible through the communication and therefore, one of the important objectives of communication is to inform.

  • [2] Human Relations : Communication helps to promote human relations, by making use of it among other things. Again, mutual understanding is possible through communication and there can be no mutual understanding without communication. The process of communication provides the means for building and nurturing mutually beneficial human relationships. Hence, it is an essential objective of communication.

  • [3] Order : Order is another important objective of communication in an organization. An order is the directive issued by management to subordinate in authoritative manner, by specifying to do or to restrain from doing some course of action. Order is always internal and downward communication. It may be written or oral. Irrespective of the size and nature of organisation is doing of auditors is essential to accomplish the task.

  • [4] Education : Another objective of communication in an organisation is to educate. It means to disseminate knowledge as well as development skills and attitudes among the various people working in the organisation. However, the process of education may extend to customers of the organization as well and it may be done through product literatures, publicity presentation and demonstration etc.

  • [5] Training : Communication is an integral component of any training program. In a business organisation, training programs are need for the people working there, in order to achieve proficiency in some specific skills as well as for development. Training sessions usually involve teaching, instructions, demonstration, practice and discussion. This process of communication is integral to each of these.
