Managers' style largely relies on their temperament and their approach to problem solving. The individualist style of every leader or manager is supported by his/her background, skills, & experience.

Explanation:

In Case A, the decision style adopted is "Directive or Autocratic Decision Making".

  • Managers who practice this approach analyze few choices and consider minimal details during decision-making. They do not find it necessary to do detailed research or search for facts. to consult with others, or seek information and use their reasoning and logic during decision-making.
  • In this case Ms. Sana  makes all decisions relating to the routine production duties of her staff to ensure a consistent and stable working flow. She analyses production plans independently on a daily basis & decides on changing faulty machines that interrupt the manufacturing process

In Case B,  the decision style adopted is, "Analytical Decision Making".

  • Managers employing the method of analytical decision-making seek more details and find more options before they decide. They obtain specific information from their sources and find accurate and comprehensive details prior to taking a decision. Such executives are conscientious policy makers who are capable of adjusting to unique circumstances and of dealing with them.
  • In this Case, the new CEO considers several aspects of joint ventures however still the CEO requires more consultative sessions & time for a final decision. That is,  leader or manager makes business decisions after having solid information/data in hand.
