Forest conservation is necessary for the following reasons:
1. Forests are home to a large number of animals. It is necessary to conserve forests in order to protect their habitat. Otherwise they would leave the forests in search of food and home and enter the villages thus creating chaos.
2. Forests are livelihood for a large number of people living nearby who earn their income by selling fruits, wood, etc from the forests. If forests are destroyed, then their income would stop, thereby leading them to starve and die.
3. Forests play a vital role in preventing global warming and building sustainable societies. If the trees are cut down, the amount of global warming will increase thereby increasing the temperature of the earth.
4. Forests are required to be conserved because trees absorb a large amount of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Growing trees soak up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it in their trunks, roots, leaves, and forest soils, thereby releasing oxygen which is required by human beings to breathe.

These are the reasons why forests should be conserved.
