The objective of building the fort was to guard his place and the place he conquered from the enemies who would attack him either by sea or land. He had built around 240 forts before he died. This was defensive mechanism towards war. His methodology was, the forts had massive walls and few men to guard with lots of necessary supplies.His famous nine forts are: Torna, Sinhagad, Raigad, Shivneri, Vijaydurg, Sindhudurg, Rajgad, Pratapgad & Lohagad
