Objects present in the dark room are not visible.but when light is switched on,every thing present in the room becomes visible. Why does this happen?

objects present in dark room are not visible but when light is switched on every thing present in room becomes visible because of rods and cones cells present in our boby .the rods cell are responsible in dim condition and the cones helps in colour vision ..and in human cones cell are more then rods cell .
