The chemical equation for Copper carbonate is simply CuCO3. Always remember that Cu has +2 charge while CO3 has -2 charge. When we write the chemical equation, the +2 and -2 will cancel out each other and that is why we will have CuCO3. As for nitric acid’s equation, we just write HNO3. It is because Hydrogen has just one plus charge(+1) and NO3 has one minus charge(— 1) so they balance out each other and we will get the equation of HNO3. However, If the question is the chemical reaction between CuCO3 and HNO3, the balanced equation will be as follows: CuCO3(s) + 2HNO3(aq) = Cu(NO3)2(aq) + H2O + CO2(g).
