observation of electroplating are :-

1) the article to be electroplated should be made the cathode of an electrolytic cell .
2) the anode is made of that pure metal which is to be coated on the article.
3) a suitable soluble salt of the anode metal is taken as electrolyte

answer for class 10...............electrolytic refining always takes place in either molten or aqueous state.......................take a sol of acidified copper sol cathode is is pure copper and anode is impure copper pass the elecricity the pure copper from the sol and anode is being collected at cathode and on anode all the impurities known as gangues are there
