The nucleus at the central part of the cheek cell contains DNA. When a drop of methylene blue is introduced, the nucleus is stained, which makes it stand out and be clearly seen under the microscope.
The nucleus is known as the control centre of the cell.It contains the regulatory machinery responsible for all the activities inside the cell. It is the largest organelle in the cell and it contains the DNA of the cell.
