iron corrodes when oxyen molecules which are present in atmosphere and the water molecule which are turns as moisture which form rust this rust are generally reddish brown. and can prevented by many methords like galvanization, colouring and oiling .
some eg are cycle chains which gets rusted , some steel utensils which gets easily rusted due to forming of oxyen and water molecules
