Copper sulfate is a blue solid (it exists as the pentahydrate) and readily dissolves in water to make a blue solution containing Cu2+ ions and SO4^2- ions. Sodium carbonate is a white solid and dissolves in water to make Na+ ions and CO3^2- ions.

When combined, these two solutions will react to form an insoluble compound:
2CuSO4(aq) + 2Na2CO3(aq) + H2O(l) → Cu2CO3(OH)2(s) + CO2(g) + 2Na2SO4(aq)

You will observe the formation of a green insoluble solid, basic copper(II) carbonate. It is formed in the patina found on copper left out in the open, like copper roofs and gutters. It’s why the Statue of Liberty is green.
