Adrenal Gland:
Location- Anterior part of each kidney.
Function- Release Glucocorticoids (responsible for glucose metabolism in the body), mineralocorticoids (responsible for electrolyte balance) ,and adrenaline as well as noradrenaline (Fight or Flight response).
Pancreas:
Location- Behind the stomach in the upper left abdomen.
Function- Release hormones insulin and glucagon involved in glucose metabolism.
Thyroid:
Location- Either side of trachea.
Function- Release two hormones tertraiodothyronine or thyroxine and triiodothyronine which play a role in regulating basal metabolic rate.
Pituitary Gland:
Location- Bony cavity called sella tursica.
Function- Releases various hormones such as growth hormone, prolactin, thyroid stimulating hormone, adrenocorticotrophic hormone etc.
