dear friend, here is the answer to your question

Most of the fast moving α-particles passed straight through the gold foil. Some of the α-particles were deflected by the foil by small angles. Surprisingly one out of every 12,000 alpha particles appeared to rebound.

The observations were:
1. Most of the alpha particles passed through the atom. This implies most of the space inside the atom is empty.
2. Few of the particles deflected back.
3. Few of the particles deflected through angles.
Hope you find this answer helpful.

Kumarayushkha: Alpha particles that pass through atom doesn't totally show that atom is empty if we add aluminium instead of gold foil what happened
