observe circuit given below calculate equivalent resistance if cell provides voltage of 2V ? find total current and reading shown by voltmeter..
Diagram is not sent
but;
There is one two ohm resistor in series. and ammeter in series. and 4 ohm resistor (both) in parallel and a voltmeter is also there in parallel.
and there is a battery and a key..

Given :

Cell of voltage 2V is connected in circuit .

An ammeter is connected in series

One Two ohm resistor is connected in series

A 4 ohm resistance is connected in parallel & voltmeter is connected in parallel

To Find :

Value of equivalent resistance & current in ammeter & voltage in voltmeter .

Solution :

•A two ohm resistance & 4 ohm resistance is connected in parallel

•Req = 1/R1 + 1/R2

Req = 1/2 + 1/4

Req = 2/4 + 1/4:

Req = 3/4

Req = 4/3 ohms

•Current in ammeter

R(equivalent) = 4/3 ohms

Voltage = 2V

Current = 2/(4/3)

current = 6/4

current = 3V/2 Ampere

•Now Current in 4 ohm resistor will be I = 3V/2 [ 2/(2+4)]

I = 3V/2(2/6)

I = V/2 Ampere

•Value of voltage by voltmeter

Since , voltmeter is connected across 4 ohm resistance so it will measure voltage around 4 ohms resistor

hence , voltage = IR

Voltage = IR

Voltage = (V/2)*4

Voltage = 2V
