◆ The reaction in which two different atoms or group of atoms are mutually exchanged is called double displacement reaction.

◆ Example = Na2SO4 + BaCl2 --- 2NaCl + BaSO4

Na2SO4 = Sodium Sulphate

BaCl2 = Barium Chloride

2NaCl = Sodium Sulphate

BaSO4 = Barium Sulphate

◆ In this above reaction BaSO4 is a white substance. This white substance is insoluble in water.

HOPE ITS HELP YOU.....

ANY DOUBTS YOU CAN ASK ME....

THANK YOU....

Double displacement reactions are chemical reactions where one component of each of the reacting molecules is exchanged to form the products.

In this reaction, the Cations and Anions of two different compounds switch places and forms two different compounds.

It can be further categorised as neutralization, precipitation and gas formation reactions.
