Observe fish in an aquarium.you will find flap like structures on both sides of their heads.these are flaps the gills.these flaps open and close alternately.on the basis of these observations,explain the process of respiration in the fish

the fish takes up the dissolved oxygen present in the water and forces pass through its gills,then the blood absorbs the oxygen by diffusion. during this diffusion process the flaps close so as to allow any further water from entering the body,after the oxygen in the water is absorbed.. the water is removed through the same gills and this process continues till the end of the life of the fish...
