About 200 species of fungi are known to be predators, killing and ingesting small creatures like protozoans, rotifers, small arthropods like tardigradum (little water bears), marine copepoda and other crustaceans, and nematoda (hookworm, pinworm).

Y mushrooms grows on the drunk of dead and dying trees, when the worms crawl on their branches, they release toxin and paralyse the worms.

Then they slowly penetrate and digest the helpless worms.

Similarly X-Nepenthes and sundew are other fly trappers which releases an adhesive to trap the insects.

When the insects are stuck to the glue, they slowly digest the victim.

All these plants are grouped based on the type of nutrition.
