The distance travelled by an object is calculated by area under the velocity time graph i.e. Distance=Velocity X Time

(i) between 6 and 12 sec

vel=40m/s, time interval=6s

Dis travelled=40X6=240m

(ii)between 0 to 16 sec

vel=40m/s, time interval= 16s

dis travelled=40X16=640m
