Magnet have quite Interesting properties.
Opposite poles of two magnets always attracts each other.
Same poles of two magnets repel each other. ( these properties can be seen easily by bringing two magnets close).
Magnets attracts the objects made of iron , cobalt etc.
The attracting force of magnets always greater at its poles ends.
If magnet is freely hanged with the help of thread its south pole will move towards the north pole of our earth.

The bar magnet like any other magnet have two poles a N pole and a P pole
The lines shown in the right and left side show the magnetic field created by the magnet. If any metal or magnet will be placed in that field it will be effected by it.
