Here distance = 60+40(directly add the path length simply). and time =6+4=10s.so speed will be 100/10=10m/s. we know that velocity=displacement/time.displacement is shortest distance between the points so here it will be 70m.(note that 70 is shorter than 60+40) so velocity will be 70/10=7m/s
