Flow-chart of a mono hybrid cross in a clitoria plant

  1. When two parent, one with genotype "BB" is crossed with other another genotype "bb", it leads to the production of progeny with allele "Bb" in F1 generation. Thus A is "Bb"
  2. When the F1 generation gametes are self crossed with parent "B" and "b", it leads to the formation of "BB", "Bb", "Bb" and "bb". Thus B is "Bb".
  3. The phenotype ratio of the given cross is 3:1, which is nothing but 3 blue flowers and 1 white flower. Thus C is 3:1.
  4. The genotypic ratio is 1:2:1, which means 1 "BB", 2 "Bb", and 1 "bb". Thus D is 1:2:1.
