Observe the following activity & answer the Questions:

a. Do you observe anything happening around the zinc granules

Answer -

a. the formation of bubbles starts to take place on the surface of zinc granules as zinc starts to displace hydrogen from sulphuric acid.

Zn + H2SO4 -------> ZnSO4 + H2

Hydrogen gas is also evolved

b. there is an increase in temp.

c. the tube is not dipped in sulphuric acid because there won't be any place where hydrogen gas can be stored.

d. Upward displacement.

e. hydrogen gas is insoluble in water.

f. lighter, that's why it has came above
