2nd is the correct . because in the first diagram the resistors are arranged in series pattern if we do soo and their is an issue creates in 1 resistor than the whole circuit will stop the work but in the 2nd diagram the resistors are arranged in parallel pattern due to which if the 1st resistor stop working then no issue , the current flows from the another circuit and the circuit will not stop working.
