The sequences in the diagram given in the question is wrong. The correct one is described below in details -

Firstly, in the gametophytic stage or phase, gametes are formed. After that, the male and female plant's gametes undergoes fertlisation which results in the formation of a diploid zygote.

Now, the sporophytic phase starts or begins. The zygote which is formed turns into a diploid body called sporophyte. The sporophyte then starts producing haploid spores in the capsule part and after that releases the spores which gives rise to new gametophyte.
