An electromagnetic circuit has been provided consisting of an iron core, coils of wire , a battery and a switch.

To find:

Mistakes in the diagram.

Mistakes:

1. Regarding Current:

• While representing a battery the longer line denotes positive terminal whereas the short line denotes negative terminal

• Current flows from + to - terminal.

• Hence, the direction of current has been marked wrong.

• The actual direction of current will be in the opposite direction (from left to right side).

2. Regarding Magnetic Field lines:

• Magnetic field lines travel from the N pole to S pole outside the magnet and from S pole to N pole inside the magnet.

• Marking of magnetic field lines is wrong.

• Hence marking of the magnetic field lines should be opposite (from S to N inside the magnet)
