in triangle AEB
=EB^2=AB^2+AE^2
EB^2=400+225
EB^2=625
EB=25cm.

in triangleDCB
DB^2=DC^2+BC^2
DB^2=225+64
DB^2=289
DB=17

NOW. DE=EB-DB
=25-17
=8.
