Discrimination

in our society, there are many ways of discrimination. First of all, discrimination means the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people. this can be on the basis of race, religion, gender, colour of the skin. some examples are discrimination between rich and poor. The human brain naturally puts things in categories to make sense of the world. Very young children quickly learn the difference between boys and girls, for instance. But the values we place on different categories are learned – from our parents, our peers and the observations we make about how the world works. Often, discrimination stems from fear and misunderstanding. Discrimination has been an epidemic that has been around for many years. However, in today’s society discrimination is more discreet and subliminal which makes it harder to unveil.
