In the process chromatography, we know that:-
The coloured component which is more soluble in solvent dissolves first, rises faster and produces a coloured spot on the paper at a higher position. Whereas the component which is less soluble produces a coloured spot on the paper at the lower position.
In the above picture, we can see that the violet colour has produced the spot at the highest position.
Thus, we can infer that the violet colour is more soluble in the solvent.
