Observation:
Combustion of sugar is a chemical reaction. When we heat sugar, the sugar atoms combine with air. The energy released during this reaction is chemical energy and it is released in form of smoke and black soot.
Results:
Sugar is composed of hydrogen, carbon and oxygen atoms. When we heat sugar molecules on flame, it melts down to a brown color liquid. If heating continuous, the liquid turns into black colored liquid and start producing wisps of black smoke.
