When a few drops of universal indicator is added to rainwater the colour of the rainwater turns to yellow, indicating the ph in the range of 5.7 which is mildly acidic if the rainwater is unpolluted, but if the water is polluted the colour may tends towards red, which indicate that the rainwater is acidic and it could have adverse effect on the environment , it could lead to damage and corrosion of buildings, polluting water bodies and so on
