  • Let 'r' be the radius of the charged particle and 'q' be the charge.
  • Since we are finding radius in a circular path, centripetal force is exerted on the circular path.
  • The formula for centripetal force is given by F = \frac{mv^{2} }{r}  →→→(1)
  • Where m is the momentum and v is the velocity.
  • The Force acting on the moving charge 'q' is given by F = qvbsinθ.
  • But here θ = 90°(because the force acting is perpendicular to the magnetic field)  hence sinθ = 1
  • F = qvB→→→(2)
  • Equating (1) and (2)
  • qvB = \frac{mv^{2} }{r}
  • v on both sides gets canceled and we get  qB = \frac{mv}{r}
  • r = \frac{mv}{qb}

The expression for the radius of circular path of a charged particle is given byr = \frac{mv}{qb}
