Answer:

How do I find displacement using a velocity time graph using the following question as an example with a step by step procedure?

How can a CSE/non CSE student from a tier 2/3 engineering college apply for off-campus placements in the tech giants like Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Intel, Amazon, etc.? How can I improve my CV in the 4 years of my B.Tech?

Let us start with some good news. These companies are as hungry for skilled developers, as much as a driven student is seeking an

First you should know what graph represents . When we plot any thing in 2 D graph , where vertical axis is for example velocity V and horizontal is time t , the slope means dV/dt will be howing acceleration while area dV* dt will be showing displacement .

Here above V-t graph is shown for example

In graph or plot, up to 20 second displacement will be area under A section of curve to horizontal line which is triangle in shape, here it from triangles area formula =1/2*dt*dv= 1/2*20*40=400 mtr( triangle area= 1/2*base*height)

2. For 20–50 seconds for section of B of curve- area is rectangular which is =dv*dt=40*30=1200 mtr(Area of ractangular=Height*width)

3. After 50–60 second for section Curve , from horizontal the area is trapezoidal which is (h1+h2)/2*b=(40+80)/2*10=600 ( h1,h2 is hight of trapezoid from horizontal axis,b= base)

4.Total displacement will be some of all displacement=400+1200+600=2200 mtr.

5. If area is below horizontal line then lower area need to be reduced to get displacement.

6. But for getting distance we have to add upper and lower area .
