Given : pentagon ABCDE with vertices A(1,2) B(1,5) C(3,7 ) D(5.0) and E(7,6)

To find : mirror image of the pentagon with respect to the x-axis and y-axis.

Solution:

x  Coordinates sign changes  wrt  y axis

& y cordinate sigh changes wrt  x axis

mirror image of the pentagon ABCDE  with respect to the x-axis and y-axis.

Hence all vertices coordinates sign will get changes

A  ( 1 , 2)  - Mirror image  A' (-1 , - 2)

B ( 1, 5) - Mirror  image  B' ( - 1 , - 5)

C ( 3 , 7) - Mirror image C'(-3 , -7 )

D ( 5 , 0)  Mirror image  D ' ( - 5 , 0)

E   (7 , 6)  Mirror Image  E' ( -7 , - 6)
