People living in the mountains have two occupations,terrace agriculture and herding. The farming systems in the mountains are of three types,
1) Livestock farming representing nomadism, 2)mix livestock-crop farming (semi-nomadism) and 3)mix crop-livestock farming (settled agriculture).Herders normally graze their livestock on alpine pastures.In the winter they graze their livestock between valleys and in summer they do it on high mountain pastures.Apart from these occupations,fishing and collecting nuts and fruits are also included as an occupation of people living in the mountains.
