India has the second largest tribal population in the world, after Africa.
The tribal regions are usually rich in natural resources, flora, fauna, and rich in minerals.
Many tribes have undergone occupational shift due to reasons like migration, displacement due to projects, natural disasters etc.
Prior to displacement or migration, the tribal communities indulged in occupations like agriculture, sheep rearing, fire-wood collection, fisheries etc.
After migration or displacement, the tribes had an occupational shift and were indulging in much more different professions for a livelihood that included trade, increase in agricultural labour and fisheries, making bricks, and industrial labour.
