Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

A ={a,b,c,d }

and B={b,d,f,h}

To find :-

Find : AUB and AnB ?

Solution :-

Given sets are :

A ={a,b,c,d }

and B={b,d,f,h}

Finding AUB:-

AUB is the set of all elements in either A or in B or in both

AUB => {a,b,c,d} U { b,d,f,h}

=> AUB = {a,b,c,d,f,h}

Finding AnB :-

AnB is the set of all common elements in both A and B

AnB => {a,b,c,d} n { b,d,f,h}

=> AnB = { b,d}

Answer:-

i)AUB = {a,b,c,d,f,h}

ii) AnB = { b,d}

Used formulae:-

  • AUB is the set of all elements in either A or in B or in both . This is called The Union of the sets A and B .

  • AUB = {x: x€ A or x€B}

  • AnB is the set of all common elements in both A and B .This is called The Intersection of the sets A and B.

  • AnB = {x: x€ A and x€B}
