(b) In the figure (ii) given below, AB || DC. AO = 10 cm, OC = 5 cm,
AB = 6.5 cm and OD = 2.8 cm.
(i) Prove that triangle OAB - triangle OCD.
(ii) Find CD and OB.
(iii) Find the ratio of areas of triangle OAB and triangle OCD.

Δ OAB is similar to Δ OCD by AA criterion of similarity

AO/OC = BO/OD = 10/5 = OB/2.8

OB = 5.6

AO/OC = AB/CD

= 10/5 = 6.5/CD

CD = 3.25

area of triangle OAB:OCD = 100/25 = 1/4

THUS, OAB:OCD = 1:4
