Answer:

What are the causes of decolonization in Asia?

In 1940′s its World War 2. These countries had little unrest with it’s colonizers such as the Dutch East Indies, Malaysia, French Indochina and British Raj. After the war in Asia against Japan 11 Japanese divisions conquered South east Asia taking out French Indochina, Malaysia (British), Dutch East Indies (Netherlands) against their colonizers. This lead to the realization that European powers weren’t as powerful as they once thought. Indonesia had a uprising, Malaysia has a communist civil war and after the threat of communism was gone negotiated and gained independence, French Indochina was full of French protectorates until the Vietminh began to revolt. Laos and Cambodia were given independence but fell to communism after Vietnam unified under communist rule even though Cambodia got rid of communism. The British Raj was given Independence in 1947 with the partition of Indian and Muslim groups. The Indians had civil unrest and were negotiating for independence. Part of the reason were the Muslim and Hindu living in a unified states adhering to unfair policies and rules. Bangladesh and Pakistan were released as a single state of East and West Pakistan until Bangladesh declared independence. Burma was part of the British Raj and was released as a democratic regime.
