A negative integer multiplied by a positive integer gives the product as a negative integers. Multiplication is nothing but adding a number certain no.of times. For eg. -2*3= -6. ie.,(-2)+(-2)+(-2)= -6. Therefore -(+) is always equal to (-).

Yes when we multiply negative with a positive it gives negative obviously. -2*+2=-4
