11. A rectangular field has a path 5 m wide running round it. If the rectangle formed by the
path and the field is 200 m x 60 m, find
(1) the area of the path​

Answer:

we know the dimensions of outer rectangle so to find the area of path we subtract the double of it's width of path from its length i.e 200m , it would be 190m,then to find the width of inner rectangle we would again subtract 10 from width i.e 60 it would be 50m then we would find the area of outer and inner rectangle , subtract them and find the area of the path.

the answer would be in form like:

length of inner rectangle=200-10=190

breadth of inner rectangle=60-10=50

area of inner rectangle=190* 50=9500m

area of outer rectangle=200*60=12000

area of path =area of outer rectangle - area of inner rectangle

=12000-9500=3500m

hence, area of path = 3500m
