Given : The garden will use 51m of fencing materials. Each garden has an area of 54m²

To Find : Size

Solution:

Fencing Material = 51 m

Area = 54 m²

Length = L

Breadth = B

2(L + B) = 51

 LB = 54

=> 2(L  + 54/L)   = 51

=> 2(L²  + 54) = 51L

=> 2L²  - 51L  + 108  =  0

=> L = 23.17 ,   2.33

another Case  : Integral Side

L                B               Perimeter

54              1                  110

27               2                 58

18                3                 42

9                 6                 39

Fencing material available  = 51 m

18                3

Hence one of the sides of the biggest rectangular garden  =  18 m
