let 'a' , 'b' and 'c' be the three numbers

According to question,

a + b = 55 -----------(1)

b + c =65-------------(2) and 3a + c =110------------(3)

on solving eq(1) and eq(2), we get

a - c = -10-------------(4)

on solving eq(3) and eq(4), we get

a = 25

substituting a=25 in eq(4), we get c=35

substituting c=35 in eq(1), we get b=30

∴ a=25, b=30, c=35

∴the third number (c) = 35
