The ionic radius of a metal is less than its atomic radius.

Explanation:

Ions are formed when elements lose or gain the electrons.

Metals lose the valance electrons and form positive ions while non metals gain the electrons and form negative ions.

When an metal lose its outer most electron the size of ion became smaller that's why the size of atomic radius of metal is smaller than its positive ion. But in case of non metal when electron is added the size of element increase that's why their ions are greater than atomic radius.
